Okay so you want to be pregnant and have a baby, or two or three. I really wish I could wave a magic wand and make that a reality for every single one of you. RIGHT. NOW. Sadly I don’t have magical powers but I do have other qualities that I’m told are powerful. I am a qualified cognitive hypnotherapist, an EFT practitioner and fertility coach. I have also been through infertility, I’ve felt like my heart has been ripped out again and again, I’ve hit rock bottom following failed treatment and I’ve suffered the blow of miscarriage.
My innermost feelings
I set the intention to be happy again
I was doing everything I could think of to improve my fertility, acupuncture, herbs, diet changes but the fact that I wasn’t able to get pregnant was sending me deeper and deeper into depression. My Doctor offered me antidepressants or the chance to see a mindful fertility coach. I knew that the depression was stemming from my repetitive negative thinking rather than a chemical imbalance so I decided to address that thinking with the help of the mindfulness coach.
I threw myself into the practice and secretly wanted this to be the solution and pregnancy to come easily. But instead of a baby I found myself again and set the intention to get happy. Through my sessions with Carla I brought new clarity to my thinking and the way I was choosing to live my life. I made the huge decision to leave my career in furniture design and I retrained in the mindbody therapies that were helping me to be the happiest I had ever been even though I was still trying to conceive. I’m writing this post to make you aware that by setting intentions for yourself alongside the biggy of ” I want a baby” can make you feel more in control of your life when I imagine it feels completely out of control at times.
So what else do you want?
Perhaps you want to feel less stressed, happier, healthier, more connected to your partner. Set an intention now for what you would like to bring into your life. Write it down and then write down three things you are going to do to help move you towards this goal. For example if your intention is to feel less stressed and you could set the following three goals:
- I intend to practice mindful meditation every day for at least 10 minutes.
- I will assess my lifestyle and how I could bring more self care into my daily routine.
- I will spend time each week focusing on clearing negative repetitive thinking by using emotional freedom technique (EFT).
Set intentions which are for you rather than with the exclusive aim of getting pregnant. For example continue with acupuncture if it makes the feel good rather than solely to boost your fertility. Anxiety, overwhelm, anger, jealousy, depression and exhaustion.
