Tuning in with your body during pregnancy is extremely important as is making time to switch off from our busy lives and connect with the moment and our babies. Pregnancy yoga is the perfect way to achieve this.

Highly recommended

I did 2 terms of Rebecca’s pre-natal yoga classes. I’m pregnant with my second and her Wednesday evening classes were a little oasis of calm amongst toddler tantrums, major house renovations and a cat convinced that I do appreciate live voles in my living room!

I enjoying having some time each week to focus on me and my bump and the visualisation we did in the last class where she invited us to imagine holding our newborns was really magical. The class is a great way to meet other mums-to-be especially if you are on your second and not doing NCT for example. We have arranged to meet regularly both before and after our little ones arrive.

I highly recommend both Rebecca’s teaching style and the venue which is in central Henley.

Pregnancy Massage

As well as teaching yoga, Rebecca is a qualified massage therapist with over 15 years experience, and specialises in Pregnancy Massage.

Pregnancy massage is incredibly beneficial for both your body and mind. As well as promoting relaxation, it can ease many pregnancy symptoms e.g lower back pain, sciatica, headaches/migraines, restless legs, swollen ankles/hands, muscular tension, balance hormones and helps to boost the immune system and give you and over all sense of well-being.

Rebecca is offering a free pregnancy massage to Embrace Bump to Baby readers when booking and paying for a course of 4 treatments (Buy 3  Get 1 FREE). Each massage is £47 for 1 hour, £188 for 4 treatments as opposed to £235.

Reiki during pregnancy

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese hands-on healing technique which works with your body’s own healing system. It alleviates many ailments including stress, anxiety, physical aches and pains, trauma and it can speed up recovery from surgery, whilst leaving you completely relaxed.  It is both gentle, yet powerful and is suitable for EVERYONE, including pregnant women, children and babies.

Rebecca is offering 4 for 3 for a course of Reiki Treatments, which are £45 for 1 hour, purchase 3 treatments, receive 1 FREE, reduced price £135 as opposed to £180.

She has 17 years massage/Reiki experience and holds treatments at my home in Henley. Let her know if you’d like to book!

Rebecca’s book recommendations

I want to recommend some pregnancy books, books that I have found really useful throughout both my pregnancies and my teaching.

New Active Birth – by Janet Balaskas

A Concise Guide to Natural Childbirth (I can’t rate this book high enough, really easy to follow, great to dip in and out of and gives you a lot of info during birth, labour and beyond.)

Juju Sundin’s Birth Skills with Sarah Murdoch

A great book to give you tips on pain control during labour, lots of first-hand accounts from other Mums and again a very easy book to follow.

Yoga for Pregnancy by Francoise Barbira Freedman and Doriel Hall

I have been taught by Francoise many times, she is the Birthlight founder of the pre-natal yoga that we practice.  This book has lots of pictures on how to practice yoga during your pregnancy, great if you want to continue your practice at home.

As far as I know these books are available from the local library or very reasonably priced on Amazon.
